Welcome to CEC Connects! Here you will find online resources to help you connect with and learn about our natural world. There is something for everyone: From gardening tips to science experiments, wildflower hikes to tasty recipes. To get started, simply click on Start Learning! below and choose which topic you’d like to explore.
Farm to School Online: The Corvallis Environmental Center’s Farm to School program increases the use of local foods in our schools, encourages children to make healthy eating choices, and supports regional farmers. We do this through cooking classes, field trips, tasting tables, garden lessons, and more. In response to the Coronavirus closures, the Farm to School program will be providing content virtually through videos and activity guides. Check back here for new content every week!
NaturePlay Preschool: For over 18 years the Corvallis Environmental Center’s preschool program at Avery House Nature Center has striven to facilitate a deep connection between students and their environment through engaging and playful nature activities! We tell stories, sing, play movement games, do amazing art projects, and learn about nature through inquiry and investigation of nature’s seasonal cycles.
Nature & Outdoor Education: Coming soon! Learn not only about the wonders of our natural world, but how to take care of and enjoy it, too. Look out soon for lessons on plant and animal life cycles, biking tips & maintenance, and camping how-to’s.
